Projectmanagement is het gestructureerd plannen, coördineren en opvolgen van een project - van eerste idee tot oplevering - zodat het op tijd, binnen budget en met het afgesproken resultaat wordt afgerond. Een projectmanager brengt alle betrokkenen samen (interne teams, leveranciers, opdrachtgever), verdeelt taken en bewaakt voortgang, budget en risico's.
Project management is the structured planning, coordination and follow-up of a project - from initial idea to delivery - so it's completed on time, within budget and with the agreed result. A project manager brings all parties together (internal teams, suppliers, client), assigns tasks, and monitors progress, budget and risk.

Projectmanagement zelf is geen wettelijke verplichting, maar een vakgebied/methodiek (o.a. gebaseerd op standaarden zoals PMI/PMBOK en PRINCE2). Élke organisatie met een project - groot of klein, gereguleerd of niet - heeft er baat bij: van een kantoorverbouwing tot een NIS2-implementatietraject.
Project management itself isn't a legal requirement, but a discipline/methodology (based on standards such as PMI/PMBOK and PRINCE2). Any organisation running a project - large or small, regulated or not - benefits from it: from an office renovation to a NIS2 implementation track.

NIS2 is een Europese richtlijn (Richtlijn (EU) 2022/2555) die de digitale veiligheid en weerbaarheid van belangrijke organisaties moet verhogen. In België is deze omgezet in de Belgische NIS2-wet, met het Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) als toezichthouder. Waar de DPO-rol focust op persoonsgegevens, gaat NIS2 breder: over de veiligheid van de hele digitale organisatie tegen hacks, storingen en cyberaanvallen.
NIS2 is a European directive (Directive (EU) 2022/2555) that raises the digital security and resilience of important organisations. In Belgium it has been transposed into the Belgian NIS2 Act, with the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium (CCB) as supervisory authority. Where the DPO role focuses on personal data, NIS2 is broader: it covers the security of the entire digital organisation against hacks, outages and cyberattacks.
